Menu Trick:

One of the challenges with a website in html is to keep the menu in sync between the pages. A trick used here involved the creation of a Rich Text Place around the menu links. After changing the menu on one page, click the 'html' link in the place and copy the HTML to the clipboard. Then open each of the menu places in the other pages and click on the 'html' link and paste the menu html. This will ensure consistency and it is very fast!

Of course, you can use PHP and other dynamic means to create a menu, which Bizyweb will support, but the exercise of this website is to learn some of the basic editing functions.

Word Trick:

If you have a document already saved in Microsoft's Word, then you have an advantage in creating an HTML page. Just open the Word document, select all and copy. This will copy the text to the clipboard. Then open a Rich Text Place on a page in your website and click the 'W' icon on the second line. You will see a message about accepting access to your clipboard. Say 'yes' and the text will flow into the place as it was formatted. Images must be place separatedly. But this give you a head start in creating a page with hassle.

A similar feature is available for flowing in straight text without formatting which may be useful in sites that are already styled. In this case, click on the 'T' icon instead of the 'W' icon.

Publishing:

First preview you page. If you like the page, then click the 'Publish' button at the bottom of the page. This will copy the currently displayed page into the archived state and make the work-in-progress page into the public page. You can see archived pages in the Content Manager.

If you click 'revert' before you click 'Publish', then all the changes you made to this work-in-progress page will be lost and the page will revert to the state it was when you first started editing. If you published a page and wish to rollback, then justopen the Content Manager and rename the archived page.
